Calvin Harris discuss upcoming Katy Perry collaboration.

Also, from this week, Calvin Harris discusses his upcoming studio time with Katy Perry.

Calvin Harris has spoken out about his upcoming collaboration with Katy Perry.

The Scottish dance star, whose album Ready For The Weekend is currently number one in the midweek charts, has booked in studio time with Perry for December.

"She wants to go in with no pre-planning but I'm the sort of guy who wants to turn up with nine or ten instrumentals and play them to her to see what she thinks," he told DS.

"I think I'm going to do that regardless and see what happens. I'm looking forward to working with her - she's a normal person and she's not up her own a**e the way a lot of these American popstars are."

Harris, who has also produced tracks for Dizzee Rascal, Kylie Minogue and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, admitted that he leapt at the chance to work with the US singer.

"Katy Perry's an amazing popstar and when I heard she wanted to work with me I was like, 'What?! F**king definitely!'" he said.

They added: "Andy is currently co-writing further tracks with Kylie and Nerina Pallot."

Chatterley has previously written and produced material for the Pussycat Dolls, Kanye West, Siobhan Donaghy and Diana Vickers.

Further acts rumoured to be contributing to Minogue's new record include Calvin Harris, Frankmusik, Paula Abdul and Xenomania.

Mariah Carey album update.

Here's a review about Mariah Carey's upcoming album "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel", in which the reviewer speaks about the "ballad-centric" album and also about rumoured next single "I Want To Know What Love Is".

I heard the Foreigner song yesterday along with all of "Memoirs" and let me tell you: Mariah's got a hit on her hands along the lines of "Emancipation of Mimi "The hour-long CD is ballad-centric. Written and produced with The Dream and Tricky (I know, but these are their stage names), "Memoirs" boasts a lot of singles. Starting with the Foreigner song is a canny move in these uncertain times. By the time its run is over, a new generation will think "I Want to Know What Love Is" is a Mariah Carey song.

This Is It is being produced with the full support of The Estate of Michael Jackson and will be drawn from hundreds of hours of rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage, captured in high definition with state-of-the-art digital sound as the late singer was preparing for his concert series in London. Dannii Minogue opens up about X-Factor

Dannii Minogue has revealed that she asked for better treatment for 6th series of X Factor. Read the report below ~

Dannii Minogue has admitted that she demanded fairer treatment before signing up for The X Factor this year.

The Australian popstar agreed in June to return for the forthcoming sixth series following months of speculation over her future with the programme.

Minogue has now revealed that she considered quitting the ITV1 talent show as she reflected on the events of series five, which saw her reduced to tears live on air following an argument with fellow judge Louis Walsh.

Speaking to The Independent, she explained: "I'm not made of steel. It got heated on and off set, and there's only so many times I can be pushed around.

"It got to the point where I had to defend my character. I'm sure the audience were eating it up, but it's different when you're actually in that seat. It was absolutely horrible. I would never want to go through that again, or see anyone else go through it. But it's what you sign up for."

She added: "This year there's a really good vibe between us. Last year it was clear to everyone that I wasn't having fun, and I made it very clear that if it was going to be anything like that again, then I didn't want to go there."

Minogue's comments come following reports that she is developing a close friendship with Walsh and Cheryl Cole on set this year.

The X Factor returns to ITV1 on August 22.

Just recieved this e-mail from Kimberley's website, and it says her 3rd studio album will released at the end of the year!

New Album
Kimberley is also hard at work on her new studio album, which she is working on with Randy Jackson of American Idol. When asked to comment on the direction she is taking with her new album, Kimberley stated "One of the areas I've had the most success in is dance... I think I have a huge fanbase there that I haven't even really tapped into yet so we're going to do a dance record which I'm really excited about!" In the past years, Kimberley has hit #1 five times on Billboard's various dance charts, as well as having appeared on Billboard's Global dance chart on three separate occasions fueled by tremendous success in the UK and Brazil. Billboard Magazine recently named Kimberley as being the 6th top dance artist of the year for 2008. Kimberley concluded, "I'm the kind of artist, I don't want to be pigeon-holed. I don't want anybody to put me in the box, but I do understand that's the nature of the business sometimes, that you have to establish your sound before you can venture off." Kimberley hopes to have the album completed by the end of the year.
