Leighton Meester discusses new album

Leighton Meester discussed her upcoming album with digitalspy.co.uk recently and claimed the album to be influenced by Ke$ha and Black Eyed Peas. Here's what she had to say in full:

"You can start from square one and really build a song from whatever your heart desires," she told Popeater. That's the most fulfilling. I just want it to be good. I want people to get a sense of me through my music."
Discussing her new LP, Meester cited Ke$ha's 'Tik Tok' and Black-Eyed Peas hit 'I Got A Feeling' as major influences on its sound.
She said: "[The songs] make you feel like you don't have to worry about tomorrow."

Meester's debut album is expected to be released this summer.

It's been a slow week for music news, but here's some details about the upcoming B.E.P. album from Digitalspy.co.uk --

Black Eyed Peas have confirmed details of their fifth studio album The E.N.D.

The record, which is the hip-hop collective's first since 2005's Monkey Business, will be released in June on Interscope.

It will be preceded by the lead single 'Boom Boom Pow', according to Billboard.

will.i.am, Apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie are currently plotting an international tour to promote the disc.

Speaking about the album's sound, will.i.am said: "[There will] be a lot of dance stuff, real melodic, electronic, soulful. We call it, like, electric static funk, something like that."
