The Spice Girls Musical - Confirmed.

It's been confirmed that the Spice Girls musical will be going ahead. Great news for the fans - and the girls' themselves, who are sure to pocket millions from this ;) !
Check out this write-up from digitalspy.co.uk...

Simon Fuller has confirmed plans for a new musical based on the Spice Girls and their music.

The stage production will be named after the group's 1998 hit 'Viva Forever' and created by 'Mamma Mia!' producer Judy Craymer.

Fuller, who managed the Spice Girls during their early career, said that the five-piece are "very excited" about the project.

"What Judy has achieved with her all-conquering box office smash hit 'Mamma Mia!' and what the Spice Girls created with their powerful record-breaking mix of girl power and hit songs, has influenced pop culture more than anyone can imagine," Fuller said.

Craymer revealed that she wants to "create a unique celebration of the band and its music, with its own flavour and joyful message".

"It is important to me that the excitement, style and humour of the Spice Girls is well represented on stage," she added.

The Spice Girls rose to fame with debut single 'Wannabe' in 1996. They have since sold over 65 million records worldwide.

The group last performed together in Toronto as part of their 'Return of The Spice Girls' world tour in February 2008.

Melanie C - Understand [Video]

Here's the brand new video by Melanie C for her latest single "Understand". The single is the fifth track to be lifted from Melanie's fourth album "This Time", and "Understand" will serve as the next single in Canada. The video is very low budget and I'm not sure the song will make any dent on the Canadian Singles Chart! Take a look!
Your thoughts on the video?

Blast From The Past: Melanie C

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Melanie C is currently back on the road with her bandmates as part of the biggest girl group of all time : THE SPICE GIRLS. Melanie C has also had a lot of success outside of the group and that's why she is the "Blast From The Past" in 2008! She has sold over 5 million albums worldwide and has co-written 12 #1 singles in the UK. This video is for "I Turn To You", which is her best selling single. It's a techno-dance song which hit #1 in the UK and is very different to Melanie's other recordings. Take a look - and tell me what you think!
Make sure to give me ideas for the "Blast From The Past" section!

Spice Girls - New Promo Pic

Here's a new promotional picture for Spice Girl's reunion. The girls all look great but I just wish Geri wasn't so central and didn't draw so much attention to herself. The girls tour seems to be a great success and the demand was so high around the world, more tickets have had to be released. However, on the music front - things seem to be going not so well. "Headlines", their new single, only debuted at #20 in the UK and it's not set to do any better in the midweeks. However the album is set to debut at #2. Perhaps their peformance at Children In Need will boost sales!

Spice Girls - Headlines [New Video]

The long awaited video from the Spice Girls has had its premiere on BBC1 last night. The video for "Headlines (Friendship Never Ends" is goood, but not up to Spice Girls standards in my opinion. Have a look!

Spice Girls - Voodoo [New Clip]

Listen to the above clip of a new Spice Girl song called "Voodoo". The song is the second song of the two new tracks the Spice Girls have put on their new Greatest Hits album, out next month. The song is very 90's, very poppy, and most importantly - very Spice Girls.
Have a listen and tell me what you think =)

Spice Girls (Promo Pic)

It's great to see all 5 girls back, isn't it?! This new promo picture of the Spice Girls is amazing, and could be the official cover of their upcoming Greatest Hits collection. I really like this photo. It's mature and grown-up and a vast difference from the way they used to look. 2007 has been a busy year for the Spice Girls - Mel B's baby drama with Eddie Murphy, Victoria's move to L.A. and the birth of Emma Bunton's baby, Beau. This picture has me feeling goosebumps and I cannot wait for their reunion tour.

Spice Girls Reunion: Confirmed

It's official. The Spice Girls are reuniting for a world tour and a greatest hits album. Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell are to return at the end of the year for a celebration of their success. It hasn't been confirmed that there will be new materiel on the album but I know album sales would rocket if the world is treated to new materiel from the biggest girl group of all time.

During 4 years at the top - the Spice Girls sold 55 million records worldwide and were the biggest worldwide phenomen since the Beatles. 7 years since parting ways and pursuing solo careers - the girls are set to embark on a farewell world tour visiting North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Europe.

At the press conference today the girls were questioned by a photographer about the reunion, comparing to boyband Take That. Melanie C replied saying that they couldn't be compared because the Spice Girls "are global". Get In!

Tour Dates:
  • Los Angeles - December 7
  • Las Vegas - December 8
  • New York - December 11
  • London - December 15
  • Koln - December 20
  • Madrid - December 23
  • Beijing - January 10
  • Hong Kong - January 12
  • Sydney - January 17
  • Cape Town - January 20
  • Buenos Aires - January 24
I'm so pleased they are jetting around the globe to visit all their fans which made them so successful. I'm convinced more tour dates will be added, especially in the UK.
I CAN'T WAIT!
