The future's bright for Adam Lambert...
About being the runner-up, Adam said the following:
"To me it's not about the title of 'American Idol,'" the 27-year-old singer told Billboard.com Friday (May 22). "It's the experience. I got to make music and do a difference performance every week, and I was able to use "American Idol" as a platform to get myself out there and have a career."
Of the rumor that he is gay and that homophobia may have played a role in his loss, Lambert would only respond, "Probably," then laugh and move on. "There's no need to dwell on the negative. I'm just thrilled that I get to move forward and have a career in the music industry." (Billboard Magazine)
In additional news, there are rumours that Adam will be the NEW FRONTMAN FOR QUEEN!?
That's crazy... but if anyone could fill Freddie Mercury's shoes, it's Adam Lambert.
Kris Allen wins American Idol
Kris Allen was crowned the winner of Season 8 of American Idol. The singer from Conway, Arkansas, won the title with Adam Lambert being the runner up.
After winning the competition, Kris has stated he just wants respect.

With speculation already underway about whether "American Idol" winner Kris Allen's future in the music industry will go boom or bust, the singer wants everyone to know that he's defining success on his own terms.
"The only thing I really want to do is just be respected in the music industry," Allen tells Billboard.com. "Whether that means selling albums or winning Grammys or just people liking my music, that's all I really want to do."
Allen may not be selling albums just yet, but he certainly is selling singles. His recording of "Heartless" was at No. 4 on iTunes Top Songs chart Friday afternoon (May 22), and his first single, "No Boundaries," which was co-written by "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi, tops the list.
Billboard article on Kelly Rowland
Billboard.com has written an article about Kelly Rowland, and her transition to dance music. It's a great read, check it out...
Singer Kelly Rowland was in France last summer when she discovered DJ David Guetta, at one of his exhilarating techno shows in Cannes.
When she later met up with Guetta and asked him to play a new track for her, the French DJ unveiled a pop number built around a lush piano loop and throbbing percussion. The track, which would become the groundwork for "When Love Takes Over," moved Rowland to tears.
"I felt so much emotion from the track; something happened the first time I heard it, and it was just beautiful," Rowland says. The former Destiny's Child member took the track to London to write and record the song's vocals.
The finished product was unveiled at a show-stopping joint performance in March at Miami's Ultra Music Festival. Last month, "When Love Takes Over" was officially released as the first single from Guetta's upcoming album, "One Love," and bulleted at No. 2 on the Hot Dance Airplay chart.
Guetta and Rowland will perform the song at various points on Guetta's continent-crossing DJ tour during the summer.
A sugary, synth-laden ode to the excitement of the unknown, the single marks a sea change in style for both artists. After R&B powerhouse Destiny's Child disbanded in 2005, Rowland released her second solo album, "Ms. Kelly," on Columbia Records in 2007. The set offered accessible, uptempo R&B, but none of the tracks was as unabashedly club-oriented as "When Love Takes Over."
"I had spent nights dancing in the South of France from 12:45 a.m. to 8 in the morning," Rowland says, "but I had never thought about recording a dance track myself. Hearing David's song made me consider taking on this whole new style."
Guetta, meanwhile, is banking on the single to garner a stronger stateside following. The 41-year-old DJ has been a staple in French house music for more than a decade, but his fourth album, slated for a late August release, finds him dabbling with a techno/hip-hop hybrid he refers to as "electro-hop."
So far, splicing genres has helped raise Guetta's profile. He recently produced "I Gotta Feeling," the second single off the Black Eyed Peas' upcoming album "The E.N.D."
"The track with Kelly has made me experiment with a more American urban influence," Guetta says. "Musically, it's opened a new world for me. It's pure pop with a lot of detail, and Kelly had this Whitney Houston vibe and nailed it."
The success of "When Love Takes Over" comes at an intriguing time in Rowland's career. An amicable split with Columbia in March led the singer to explore other media, and she landed on Bravo's "The Fashion Show" as a co-host with style guru Isaac Mizrahi. The reality show premiered May 7.
Rowland also is readying a new charity called I Heart My Girlfriend, which will serve as an interactive support system for teenage girls. The program continues Rowland's long line of philanthropic work, including a bone marrow drive she spearheaded in March.
Although Rowland is still between labels and doesn't have concrete plans for another solo album, she hints that her next effort may return the favor for Guetta and focus more on the clubs. "This has definitely inspired me to put more of a dance sound on an album of my own," she says. "I want to try out that world without straying too far from my urban roots."

Mariah reveals new album title.
Mandy Moore speaks to Billboard.
Mandy Moore is hoping her forthcoming sixth studio album, "Amanda Leigh," continues the gradual process of transitioning from teen hitmaker ("Candy") to greater acceptance as a bona fide musical artist.
"I find it silly that there would be any sort of apprehension, as if it's really hard to believe that people grow up and evolve and change," Moore, who married singer-songwriter Ryan Adams in March, tells Billboard.com. "I mean, it was 10 years ago; I don't think anyone wants what they did when they were 14 or 15 to follow them around.
"I was proud of the work I was doing back then, but I was really just a kid. I'm going to continue to grow, and my musical tastes will change and hopefully I'll only get better and better and work harder and harder and study more. I'm not desperately seeking out credibility as an artist. I just love music. This is what I'm most passionate about."
Unlike 2007's "Wild Hope," which Moore calls "a big kind of studio album," "Amanda Leigh" -- which comes out May 26 -- was recorded with producer and co-writer Mike Viola, mostly at engineer Ducky Carlisle's basement studio near Boston. "I enjoyed breaking it down even more from 'Wild Hope,' where we were in a beautiful, huge state-of-the-art studio and you had a bunch of people there for, like six weeks," says Moore, who also co-wrote songs for "Amanda Leigh" with Inara George and Lori McKenna.
"This was the more acoustic form of that, I guess. This was ideal and, like, the ultimate learning experience for me. I felt like I was the kid sister and the assistant in terms of learning about the production and engineering side of things, just being present for absolutely everything. That's a lot different from being 14 and 15 yeas old and just being brought into the studio song by song with a different songwriting team or production team."
Moore has "no solidified plans as of yet" to tour in support of "Amanda Leigh," but she predicts that "we'll be doing our fair share of little things here and there." And while her acting career has taken second-fiddle to music the past couple of years, Moore says that she plans to put some focus on that during the second half of 2009.
"I'm ready. I'm excited," she notes. "I want to be challenged in the way that I've been challenged with music. I felt like for awhile there so much of my energy was put on...the acting and film stuff that the music had to sort of match. Now the film stuff has to make sense, too, and match up to the music."

Ashanti to be dropped from Murder Inc.
Irv Gotti, whose Murder Inc. label once boasted such chart-topping artists like Ja Rule and Ashanti, says he's "going to drop" the latter.
"Our relationship has run its course. We're in two totally different places," the Queens-born producer and label head told MTV about his current relationship with Ashanti this week. "We don't really speak or talk and it's sad, but in another way it's like its all good. I don't think she could win - she needs some guidance, but she's not thinking that and honestly, I'm going to drop her."
In related news, the R&B singer will be making her stage debut this summer as Dorothy in a revival of "The Wiz." The musical will play June 12 through July 5 at New York City Center as part of its "Encores! Summer Stars" series.
Ciara and Jay-Z plan U.S. tour
"I will say it because the information has been leaked. Me and Jay-Z will be doing a 10-city tour run together! More details coming soon! [sic]" Ciara revealed on Twitter Monday night.
The full itinerary has not yet been announced, but Jay-Z's rep did say it won't be a 10-city tour, although she wouldn't confirm if it was more shows or less.
Still, a few dates and venues have already been revealed, including stops July 3 and 4 at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, July 10 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, and July 12 in Atlanta.
Before the Jay-Z tour, Ciara will support Britney Spears on the European leg of the "Circus" tour in June.

Paula Abdul to premiere new song on American Idol
Paula Abdul is releasing her new single and will perform it tomorrow night on American Idol. Read an article with lots details below...
Straight up, Paula Abdul is going to perform her new single, "I'm Just Here for the Music," on "American Idol" on Wednesday night, she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Tuesday morning (May 5).
The "American Idol" judge, who most recently choreographed a number during the show's disco week, will release the new song on PaulaAbdul.com, according to the Los Angeles Times' Idol Tracker blog.
Abdul worked on the dance track with producer Oliver Lieber, who also collaborated with her on her 1988 album, Forever Your Girl. "I'm Just Here for the Music," the first single from Paula's yet-untitled fall album, was also co-written by Danielle Brisebois and Wayne Rodrigues.
Before premiering the song on Seacrest's KIIS FM show, Abdul said she just made the decision to perform it on "Idol" this weekend. "I wasn't sure if I was going to do it, because timing is of the essence," she said. "I put everything together Saturday, rehearsed on Sunday. ... I feel really good about it. There's a lot to see in less than three minutes."
