Keyshia Cole, Missy Elliot and Lil' Kim performed at BET 106 this week with their hit single "Let It Go". The performance was brilliant, really energetic and the crowd loved it.
In other Keyshia news, "Let It Go" climbed 3 spots to #7 on Billboard Hot 100 whilst her new album "Just Like You" reached #2 this week with over 300,000 copies sold. Well done Keyshia!

Avril Lavigne - Update!

Watch out for Avril Lavigne's video for new single "Hot" which will be premiered on October 5th. It is the third single from her massive-selling third album "The Best Damn Thing".
As for the album, it has (since April) sold 4.3 million copies worldwide. It's already been confirmed platinum in both the UK and the US.
Meanwhile, Avril is featured on the cover of the followi g magazine, to promote "Hot".

Nicole Scherzinger - Whatever U Like [Live @ Pepsi Smash]

Despite only charting at a dissapointing 104 on the US chart, Nicole Scherzinger is still doing the rounds of US TV and performing "Whatever U Like" at every oppurtunity. It's been confirmed officially that "Baby Love" will serve as the lead single from Nicole's debut "Her Name Is Nicole", but as of yet, there has not been one performance of that song! How odd, but it's still great to see HOT performances like the one above. Enjoy!

Mariah is releasing her debut perfume "M" and she premiered the T.V advert for the fragrance on MTV last night. The advert is flawless, Mariah looks beautiful and it's great to see her again. Keyshia Cole - Just Like You [Music Review]

I have decided to review Keyshia Cole's new album "Just Like You". It's being released this month and is the follow up to 2005's "The Way It Is". The first single is "Let It Go", a US R&B #1, which features Missy Elliot and Lil' Kim.

1. Let It Go [Featuring Missy Elliot & Lil' Kim]
The first single, every Keyshia fan knows this one. It's a great 90's slowjam and Missy and Kim's raps are great. It's really catchy and the video is good too.

2. Didn't I Tell You [Featuring Too $hort]
Wow! Didn't see this one coming. It kind of sounds like a song that Ciara or Kelis would record, but Keyshia sounds great on this. It's really fresh, really upbeat and would sound great in the clubs. Possible new single maybe?

3. Fallin' Out
Wow this has a really cool old school vibe going on. It can be a tad repetitive but Keyshia's vocals are on point and I've read on other sites that this is a contender for a single!

4. Give Me More
One of the standout tracks for me. The track has such a good beat and its really catchy! I reccomend this song highly.

5. I Remember
This one sounds like a Mary J. Blige song to me. It's nice enough, but nothing special. But once again, Keyshia's vocals are outstanding. Also, it sounds similar to Keyshia's hit single "Love".

6. Shoulda Let You Go [Featuring Amina]
DarkChild produced this one, and it shows. This is the second single and it sounds like Mary J's "Enough Cryin'", which DarkChild also produced. Very good song, a highlight.

7. Heaven Sent
This is my favourite!!!!!!!! It's so sweet, it won't be everyone's cup of tea but I love it. The lyrics are beautiful.

8. Same Thing [Interlude]
Keyshia singing/talking over a nice beat. Not bad, but not essential to the album!

9. Got To Get My Heart Back
Hmmm not a bad track, but not as good as the first 7 songs on the album. It doesnt' really go anywhere for me.

10. Was It Worth It?
Another standout track. Really deep song and B. Cox did a good job on the production of this.

11. Just Like You
Kind of reminds me of a Mariah Carey type of song, it's a good title track - but like "Got To Get My Heart Back", it's nothing special. Bit annoying.

12. Losing You [Featuring Anthony Hamilton]
Very old school! Anthony Hamilton fans will love this, but I'm not so convinced. It can be a little boring listening to it, but it's not awful.

13. Last Night [Featuring Diddy]
We all know this one! A great song, and a different edit to Diddy's version. It was a massive hit for Keyshia and its good that she included this on the album.

14. Work It Out
Probably the weakest track, but it's a good album closer. Nothing special to say about this song at all.

Canadian Superstar Alanis Morissette is back with a new album and a new single called "Underneath". The video premiered today and even thought it's really low quality, it seems to be a good video. Alanis sounds better than other and the track sounds really up-to-date, but still manages to keep that Alanis magic which made her famous in the first place.

Ashanti has been quiet on the music front over the past few years after starring in a couple of successful films such as "John Tucker Must Die" and the forthcoming "Resident Evil" movie. But now Ashanti is back with the first single of her upcoming album - "Hey Babe (After The Club)" . The new album "The Declaration" is due out on December 4th. Rapper 50 Cent has defended singer Britney Spears and her performance at this years VMA's. He might have had a little dig at Kanye West in the process but everything he said was true. 50 Cent said the following...

"Kanye expressed that he felt that Britney shouldn't be actually opening the show - almost like he forgot that Britney Spears sold 50 million records," 50 told Ryan Seacrest. "She did. He is not thinking about her full body of work. She deserved to headline the show better than anybody else that was on it - even in the state that she is in."

50 Cent spoke the truth with this one. Britney has achieved so much in the space of about 5 years and Kanye can only dream of having her success. Maybe a Britney and 50 colloboration is on the cards? Haha maybe not...

The album, expected to be called "Growing Pains", is expected to be huge after 2005's "The Breakthought" which sold 700,000 copies in it's first week. Mary has a good chance of emulating that success but has stiff competition by other females releasing in November, including Nicole Scherzinger, Mya, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Britney Spears! Britney Spears "Gimme More" VMA Performance

Well, she did it! It might have been perfect but Britney Spears performed at the last nights VMA awards and it was a good performance overall. The show as a whole was underwhelming and Britney's dancing and choreography was by far the best, in my opinion. Alicia Keys and Rihanna also gave stellar performances.Apparently though, the performance didn't go to plan at all. On-lookers commented that Britney looked upset during her performance and at the end of it, she looked relieved. According to reliable sources, Sarah Silverman, some American D-Lister, said that Britney's kids were "mistakes" and other nasty comments. Britney was said to be distressed.

Additionally, its been revealed that she threatened NOT to peform because MTV wouldn't give her creative control of the performance. She wanted a magic show theme and she had worked with magician Criss Angel - they planned that Britney would dissapear and then re-appear and there would be illusions with mirrors! That would have been brilliant.



So no wonder Britney was a bit upset during her performance :(

Opening with a close-up of the back of her head, Spears stared into the camera with the opening lines to "Trouble," made famous by the ultimate Las Vegas legend, Elvis: "If you're lookin' for trouble, you came to the right place/ If you're lookin' for trouble, look right in my face."

The camera panned out to reveal Spears decked out in acres of bling, including a black, jewel-encrusted bra and hot pants, black boots and nothing else. Sashaying in and out of dancers

With images of chandeliers floating on the screen behind her mixed with silhouettes of women befitting the intro reel to a James Bond flick, Spears walked across the stage as her scantily clad dancers worked a series of stripper poles scattered throughout the room.

At least one VIP, 50 Cent, appeared to be enjoying the multimedia experience. And then, after all that hype, a relieved-looking Brit gave a shy smile, whispered "thank you" and exited. in skin-tight leather, Spears sang the refrain "Gimme, gimme more" as she literally stepped over the back of a male dancer and got intimate with another.

Rhianna’s number one smash hit song, ‘Umbrella,’ was originally written for Britney Spears, according to reports.

The revelation has emerged after the song’s creator, American music producer Tricky Stewart, told another one of his artists that Britney Spears never got back to him about the track, reports WENN.

Singer and songwriter Taio Cruz revealed: "I was working with Tricky in his studio the day he finished Umbrella. As soon as I heard it I said, 'That is a smash, I have to have it,' but he told me it was on hold for Britney.”

This song is OK, good album materiel but definately not worthy of being a single. The lyrics are great, and from what I've read, the song is only in the demo stages. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album now!

This is the "official" album cover for Booty Luv's debut album, according to sources. It's an OK cover, nothing special - just OK. It pretty much sums up Booty Luv, fun-loving and a bubble-gum pop/dance act. I like these girls and the album might be something I will pick up when it's released this Autumn.

Pras lashes out at Lauryn Hill

The Fugees look set never to reunite after Pras lashed out at bandmate Lauryn Hill in an exclusive Hip-Hop magazine. Pras said the following...

“Before I work with Lauryn Hill again, you will have a better chance of seeing Osama Bin Laden and [George W.] Bush in Starbucks having a latte, discussing foreign policies, before there will be a Fugees reunion,” Pras told AllHipHop.com. “At this point I really think it will take an act of God to change her, because she is that far out there.”

It's said that Pras feels this way about Lauryn after all the success they had with eachother, along with other member Wycelf Jean. I wonder how things will pan out in the future for Pras and Lauryn, and despite Lauryn's personal struggles in the last decade - I know she can come back as strong as ever.

Leaked! It's Jordin Spark's new single, Tattoo. This song is set to be the lead single from her debut album and the American Idol 6th Season Winner says it was the "perfect song" for her. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but it's a great track and really sweet. It will do well on the charts, it's a big depature from her debut "This Is My Now".

Beyoncé returns to studio in December!

Superstar Beyoncé will return to December to record her third studio album. It seems this girl never relaxes! She is still promoting her current album "B'Day" and the singles are still charting worldwide and there is such a thing of overexposure. Perhaps she is taking lessons out of Rihanna's book and releasing albums as fast as possible. It works for Rihanna, but I can't see it working out for Beyoncé. Watch this video for confirmation...

Kelly Rowland - Ghetto [Official 2nd Single]

Kelly Rowland's recent album "Ms. Kelly" might not have set the charts alight but she is still pursuing the project and is releasing 2 singles at the same time. At the beginning of August it was reported "Comeback" and "Work" would be the new singles but it now it has surface that it will be "Ghetto" and "Work" as the new singles! "Ghetto" will serve as the next U.S single whilst "Work" will be released to international market. "Ghetto" features a short rap from Snoop Dogg and is a good song, but I prefer "Comeback". The album was released 2 months ago now, and still no video for the second single has appeared! Kelly needs to pull her act together with these singles or the "Ms. Kelly" project may be in serious jeapordy!

Nicole Scherzinger - Super Villain [New Track]

Here is a leaked track from PCD's Nicole Scherzinger's debut album, Her Name Is Nicole. The track, called "Super Villain", is an upbeat song, but very different to first single "Whatever U Like". Nicole's record label has reported this will serve as the second single from the album, and I think it's a good choice. The album is expected to drop in October. Should be a great album judging by the standard of what we've heard so far!

Swedish popstar Robyn has reportedley been approached by Britney Spears to work on Britney's new album. Robyn, who is currently #1 in the UK Charts with her track "With Every Heartbeat", has already recorded with Britney before. Metro has posted this article on their website and also tells about what music Robyn is liking at the moment. The article said the following...

"Britney Spears has apparently asked Scandinavian singer Robyn to pen her a new song. Robyn told the Daily Star: "I've been approached about writing a new song for Britney and I'm cool with that. I've written for her before but it only got to the recording stages, so doing it again would be a good move for me. I'd like to think I could help." The 28-year-old also revealed that she's a fan of Rihanna's chart-topper Umbrella. "I love Umbrella by Rihanna," she added. "I know it got on some people's nerves but there's something really fresh and modern about that song. "I respect artists like Lily Allen and Kate Nash but they're not what I play on my stereo."

Samantha Jade - Turn Around [New Video]

Samantha Jade is an upcoming R&B singer from the US and today was the premiere of her official debut single "Turn Around". The song itself is a generic R&B mid-tempo ballad but Samantha's vocals are really sweet and delicate and it should do well. I prefered her track "Step Up", which featured the massive hit film of the same name, and would love to hear more tracks like that.

It's great to see all 5 girls back, isn't it?! This new promo picture of the Spice Girls is amazing, and could be the official cover of their upcoming Greatest Hits collection. I really like this photo. It's mature and grown-up and a vast difference from the way they used to look. 2007 has been a busy year for the Spice Girls - Mel B's baby drama with Eddie Murphy, Victoria's move to L.A. and the birth of Emma Bunton's baby, Beau. This picture has me feeling goosebumps and I cannot wait for their reunion tour.

Monica confirms Pregnancy

R&B Singer Monica Arnold has confirmed she is pregnant with her second child. The father is clearly expected to ber her long-term partner Rodney 'Rock' Hill Jr, with whom she has a child already with - Lil' Rock. This will be interesting to see what will happen with her forthcoming 5th Studio Album. Earlier on in the year, Monica claimed she was to release a record fast within a year ot two after her last CD "The Makings Of Me", which was only certified Gold in the States. But congratulations to her, she deserves happiness after a year of hard work with TMOM!

Famous dance artist & DJ Paul Van Dyk is releasing his new album very soon and its first single features a surprise guest - none other than Jessica Sutta! She might not be a household name, but she is one sixth of mega-selling pop group the Pussycat Dolls! She has never really had the chance to shine in PCD, with Nicole always taking the lead, so it's great to see her sing in this track. This is straight-up dance track, and features great vocals. 50 Cent to "quit" music industry?

50 Cent has said this is a recent interview...

"American rapper 50 Cent has threatened to stop releasing solo material if his next album fails to outsell a new CD by rival star Kanye West.
"Let's raise the stakes," 50 Cent said, as the pair prepared to launch rival albums on the same day next month.
He promised if West's sales beat those of his own release, he would not produce any more solo albums.
He told hip-hop website SOHH.com that he would continue to collaborate with other artists, however.
"If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer write music," 50 Cent said.
"I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out any more solo albums." "

If this is true, then 50 is really silly. Kanye West hasn't been a rival to 50 Cent before, and he is just going too far now. With Kanye West's single "Stronger" doing really well (#6 US, almost #1 in the UK) and 50 Cent's singles flopping on the Pop & Rap charts, 50 Cent might have to live up to his promise and quit being a solo artist forever... the fool!

Emma Bunton has "Baby" Boy

Spice Girl superstar Emma Bunton has given birth to her first child today. Her baby, named Beau, is said to be a delight to her and boyfriend Jade Jones. Fox news reports the following...

"The 31-year-old Spice Girls singer gave birth to a son, Beau, at London's Portland Hospital on Friday, a spokesman said.

He is the first child for Bunton and boyfriend Jade Jones."

Emma Bunton is the forth Spice Girl to have a child, and its good timing - due to the reunion tour later on in the year. Victoria Beckham (3 children), Melanie Brown (2 children) and Geri Halliwell (1 child) are all mothers whilst Melanie Chisholm is yet to become a mother.

Christina Aguilera Cancels Tour!

Pop superstar has had to cancel the rest of her "Back To Basics" tour, it has been revealed today. It has been announced that she is suffering from a severe case of the flu and hopefully other dates can be rescheduled for the cancelled tour dates. One news reporter claimed that Chrsitina has fainted once or twice. Many are thinking that her pregnancy is causing Christina to be so ill, which is a shame. I hope she gets well soon!

M.I.A - Jimmy [New Video]

The video for M.I.A's new single "Jimmy" premiered a couple of days ago. The song is really fresh and dancey, and the video is brilliant. Produced by Timbaland, the single is taken from M.I.A's second full-length album "KALA". Her first album "Arular" is fantastic so be sure to watch out for "KALA". Backstreet Boys - Inconsolable [New Single]

The HQ CD-Quality version of Backstreet Boys new single "Inconsolable" leaked today. After being debuted on US Radio yesterday, the track seems to be popular. It's a good track, laid-back and the typical sound we expect from the guys. It's not as slow and slushy as "Incomplete" or "I Want It That Way" but it's no upbeat song like "Backstreet Boys". I really like it and it's going to do well due to their large fan base, but I think this song will attract new fans. It's grown-up, accesible and radio-friendly. It's taken from their new album, to released before Christmas.

Eve has already released the follow-up to smash hit "Tambourine" with this hot summer single with Sean Paul. The second single from their US & UK #1 album, "It Won't Be Soon Before Long", has already been making controversey in America, where explicit clips have surfaced on the internet. The small clips haven't dissapointed and this is one of the best video's of the year, and definately the best M5 video.
