Thanks to rap-up.com

Nelly and Kelly are back for another round. The “Dilemma” collaborators recorded a follow-up to their 2002 smash called “Gone” for Nelly’s new album, due next year. The song, which Nelly calls “DL Part 2,” was co-produced by Jim Jonsin and Rico Love.

Billboard article on Kelly Rowland

Billboard.com has written an article about Kelly Rowland, and her transition to dance music. It's a great read, check it out...

Singer Kelly Rowland was in France last summer when she discovered DJ David Guetta, at one of his exhilarating techno shows in Cannes.

When she later met up with Guetta and asked him to play a new track for her, the French DJ unveiled a pop number built around a lush piano loop and throbbing percussion. The track, which would become the groundwork for "When Love Takes Over," moved Rowland to tears.

"I felt so much emotion from the track; something happened the first time I heard it, and it was just beautiful," Rowland says. The former Destiny's Child member took the track to London to write and record the song's vocals.

The finished product was unveiled at a show-stopping joint performance in March at Miami's Ultra Music Festival. Last month, "When Love Takes Over" was officially released as the first single from Guetta's upcoming album, "One Love," and bulleted at No. 2 on the Hot Dance Airplay chart.

Guetta and Rowland will perform the song at various points on Guetta's continent-crossing DJ tour during the summer.

A sugary, synth-laden ode to the excitement of the unknown, the single marks a sea change in style for both artists. After R&B powerhouse Destiny's Child disbanded in 2005, Rowland released her second solo album, "Ms. Kelly," on Columbia Records in 2007. The set offered accessible, uptempo R&B, but none of the tracks was as unabashedly club-oriented as "When Love Takes Over."

"I had spent nights dancing in the South of France from 12:45 a.m. to 8 in the morning," Rowland says, "but I had never thought about recording a dance track myself. Hearing David's song made me consider taking on this whole new style."

Guetta, meanwhile, is banking on the single to garner a stronger stateside following. The 41-year-old DJ has been a staple in French house music for more than a decade, but his fourth album, slated for a late August release, finds him dabbling with a techno/hip-hop hybrid he refers to as "electro-hop."

So far, splicing genres has helped raise Guetta's profile. He recently produced "I Gotta Feeling," the second single off the Black Eyed Peas' upcoming album "The E.N.D."

"The track with Kelly has made me experiment with a more American urban influence," Guetta says. "Musically, it's opened a new world for me. It's pure pop with a lot of detail, and Kelly had this Whitney Houston vibe and nailed it."
The success of "When Love Takes Over" comes at an intriguing time in Rowland's career. An amicable split with Columbia in March led the singer to explore other media, and she landed on Bravo's "The Fashion Show" as a co-host with style guru Isaac Mizrahi. The reality show premiered May 7.

Rowland also is readying a new charity called I Heart My Girlfriend, which will serve as an interactive support system for teenage girls. The program continues Rowland's long line of philanthropic work, including a bone marrow drive she spearheaded in March.

Although Rowland is still between labels and doesn't have concrete plans for another solo album, she hints that her next effort may return the favor for Guetta and focus more on the clubs. "This has definitely inspired me to put more of a dance sound on an album of my own," she says. "I want to try out that world without straying too far from my urban roots."

Kelly Rowland dropped from record label.

Kelly Rowland has been dropped by her record label, according to reports. Check out this article here:

The Grammy-winning R&B/pop superstar Kelly Rowland will no longer be recording with Columbia Records as a solo artist, it was officially announced today by the label.

Rowland, a founding member of Destiny's Child, the world's top-selling female group, will continue her relationship with Columbia Records in her ongoing role in the iconic ensemble.

"Because Columbia Records has been my home base as an artist for more than a decade, the decision to move out on my own required a lot of soul-searching," said Kelly Rowland. "As a solo artist, I felt the need to explore new directions, new challenges, and new freedoms outside my comfort zone and my friends and family at Columbia have been incredibly understanding about my evolution. I want to thank everyone at Columbia for the love and support they've shown and I will never forget how many good times we've had over the years."

"Kelly Rowland is one of our finest contemporary artists and a musical force to be reckoned with," said Rob Stringer, CEO, Columbia/Epic Label Music Group. "It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Kelly and we will continue our working relationship with her under the Destiny's Child moniker. The decision for Kelly to seek other opportunities for her solo career was agreed upon mutually, and any reports to the contrary are false."

Kelly Rowland - Comeback [Video]

Kelly Rowland made a music video back in July 2006 for "Comeback", a track on her album "Ms. Kelly". Although never released as a single, we haven't been able to see the video - until today! It's an awesome video, Kelly looks gorgeous! I hope this will be a single at some point during this project, as this was always a highlight from the "Ms. Kelly" sessions. We'll see!

Kelly Rowland performs US National Anthem

Kelly Rowland was in Hawaii yesterday at the US Pro Bowl yesterday. She performed the US National Anthem and it was so epic. It almost brings tears to your eyes, such a beautiful performance. There was fireworks, flags and aeroplanes! Kelly's vocals have been so good recently, I'm really anticipating the re-release of "Ms. Kelly" now, which is out in April.

Kelly Rowland - Interview @ This Morning

Kelly Rowland is in the UK at the moment doing some promotion for her single "Work". The single is already set to go top 10 on downloads alone in the UK today. Great news for Kelly. In the interview, she talks on show "This Morning" with Fearne and Philip about everything - the new album, single, performing @ G-A-Y and burping. She is so down to earth, and natural - I love me some Ms. Kelly!

Kelly Rowland - Daylight [Video]

Kevipod blog has just ripped the video for Kelly Rowland's new video for "Daylight". The track premiered on "France 2" a channel in France; and is the theme song for the new Asterix video. The video is pretty standard, but it's good nevertheless! The single will be the third single worldwide, while "Work" is the second single in the UK.
Take a look... and tell me what you think =)

Kelly Rowland - Work [Video]

After filming the music video for "Work (Put It In)" back in July, the video for Kelly Rowland's new single has just premiered on So-Urban. The video is brilliant! Take a look!
- The whole "Ms. Kelly" project has been messed up since summer, with the second single "Ghetto" charting only #109 on the U.S R&B charts. However, Kelly went back to do the studio to record some more tracks to be featured on a "Ms. Kelly" re-release, including her new worldwide single "Daylight", with Gym Class Heroes. However, she hasn't wasted her video for "Work" and the track will be released in the UK in 2008, maybe a double A-Side with "Daylight", who knows!

Kelly Rowland to re-release "Ms. Kelly"

Despite Kelly Rowland's latest album "Ms. Kelly" only being released in June, her record label and management team are already prepping a re-release of the album. This is due to poor sales of the album. So far, the album has sold about 300,000 copies worldwide, which isn't that bad!
The re-issue of the album hasn't got a release date as of yet, but it will feature new songs and perhaps a bonus DVD according to reliable sources.
The above cover is slate to be the official cover of the re-release, however it could just be fan-made.
Will you be buying the Ms. Kelly re-release?

Kelly Rowland - Ghetto [Video]

Kelly Rowland's new single "Ghetto" premiered on BET last night! Hurrah! The track which, featuring Snoop Dogg, is the second single off her latest album "Ms. Kelly". The album has had a good chart run (selling approx. 250,000 copies WW) but this song is expected to be huge! It's a good song but the album has so much more to offer. Rumour is that "Work" will be released in the UK soon with a video! Watch this space...

Kelly Rowland - Ghetto [Official 2nd Single]

Kelly Rowland's recent album "Ms. Kelly" might not have set the charts alight but she is still pursuing the project and is releasing 2 singles at the same time. At the beginning of August it was reported "Comeback" and "Work" would be the new singles but it now it has surface that it will be "Ghetto" and "Work" as the new singles! "Ghetto" will serve as the next U.S single whilst "Work" will be released to international market. "Ghetto" features a short rap from Snoop Dogg and is a good song, but I prefer "Comeback". The album was released 2 months ago now, and still no video for the second single has appeared! Kelly needs to pull her act together with these singles or the "Ms. Kelly" project may be in serious jeapordy!

Kelly Rowland - Work [Video Pics]

Pictures of Kelly Rowland's new music video for "Work" have surfaced on kellyrowlandweb website, and the video looks like its gonna be a hot one. "Work" will serve as the second single from "Ms. Kelly" in Europe and others parts of the world, whilst "Comeback" is to be released to the American market. I have a feeling "Work" is going to explode here in the UK, and repeat the same success of current single "Like This", which has been in the top 20 for almost 2 months now. "Work" is an upbeat R&B/Pop song and is different to other R&B songs out there, and I hope it does well!

Kelly Rowland collapses in Nigeria

Kelly Rowland collapsed on stage last night whilst performing her hits at a concert in Nigeria. She was there promoting new album"Ms. Kelly", and reportedley collapsed due to dehyrdration and the heat of the country. Kelly has been promoting the album for about 2 months now and hasn't had a break and perhaps this is just nature's way of telling her to have a rest up. She has been flown back to the US to rest up before, sadly, returning to promote the CD. The video below is quite sad and you can tell the audience were horrified at what had just happend. Take a look for yourself...

Kelly Rowland - Tell Me [Unreleased Track]

"Tell Me" is an unreleased track from Kelly Rowland's latest album "Ms. Kelly". It's a brilliant track and would feature well on the album but wasn't chosen for some reason. Nevertheless, thanks to kevipod for putting the song on their page, and take a listen for yourself!

Kelly Rowland - Second Single

The second single from Kelly Rowland's second album "Ms. Kelly" is "Comeback". The track, produced by Scott Storch, is to be released to radio on July 7th in the US. "Comeback" won the best song on "Ms. Kelly" on an AOL poll earlier this month. I really like this track but I think there are better tracks on "Ms. Kelly", such as "Work" and "Still In Love With My Ex". The third single is hopefully going to be a ballad - and I'm rooting for "Love". It's a really strong song and Kelly's vocals are amazing. Enjoy!
